Sunday 31st May v Twyford MO Friendly 4R Away
Due to a shortage of players, the format was changed to include women players with teams drawn across the two clubs. The four rinks were all very close, with two rinks within a shot of each other, one rink 2 shots and the final rink 4 shots. The one PPBC v Twyford rink was a mixed pair with PPBC winning by 1 shot. It was a very relaxed and enjoyable afternoon, made more sociable by teams including players from both clubs.
Tuesday 28 April v Tilehurst A KL 4R Away
The Kennet League team's first league match was against Tilehurst. As expected, we lost all 4 rinks, on a demanding green. It was a good experience for a lot of players, especially as we had around 5 main people not playing for various reasons. Points wise it was a 14-0 (2pts per rink, plus 6pts for the win) to Tilehurst.
Saturday 25 April v Reading Mixed 5T Home
Our first mixed friendly match on Saturday was played in beautiful conditions at PPBC. Reading provided only 9 players and no ladies, so one of our Triples played for them. Unfortunately, we lost 87/63 but it was only a friendly.
Tuesday 21 April v Burghfield Men 4R Away
On a very cold blowy evening at Burghfield, the men played their traditional opening friendly game as a KL team format with 2 woods x 4 players. The result, we lost by one point, 58/57.
